Belson Design Captivate Design Tours Internationally
22 NOVEMBER 2017
Belson Design’s Principal Designer Sharyn McBride has pushed the artistic envelope for eight years of travelling overseas for design inspiration and now has dared to combine a mishmash of design destinations into three International Design Tours.
Melbourne Interior Design Firm Belson Design strikes out with International Design Tours, not for the faint-hearted, creating essential design buffs the chance to step inside the world’s most awe-inspiring homes and to meet and learn the secrets from some of the world’s foremost designers.
New York - May 2018
Dive into Kips Bay Decorators Show House, one of the primary designer showcase houses in the USA. The house is transformed by celebrated designers each year and is renowned for sparking interior design trends throughout the world. The tour also offers guests an exclusive meeting with a designer who is well-known amongst New York celebs. Fly into Los Angeles’ Design District, exploring Art Deco design, architecture, rock star designer showrooms, hotels and homes.
Tokyo - August 2018
Jetting into Tokyo, get the first impression of the oldest civilisations in the world, Japan has been influencing Western interior design, as well as art and architecture for centuries. This tour traces the footsteps of notable Frank Lloyd Wright, William Morris and Brett Whiteley and covers everything from the history of design to learning to make a 17th century-inspired woodblock print in Tokyo.
Palm Springs - February 2019
Iconic mid-century design and architecture is the heart of this tour, drop by a hip LA design firm, a jaw-dropping modernist home and much-coveted tickets to Palm Springs Modernism Week events. This tour is sold out early in October each year, as these tickets get snapped up within minutes.
Sharyn said all three Design Tours are tailor-made for both professional interior designers and those who are passionate about residential aesthetics. “All the leading designers travel the world to gain inspiration, and I wanted to share this opportunity with anyone who is passionate about interior design,” she said. “No matter how experienced you are with interior design, don’t restrict yourself as you will take away tangible design knowledge on my design tours.
“My interior design tours are a one-of-a-kind, exposing travellers to different types of design, to explore their own creativity, and to give them the confidence to go out and be creative themselves.”
Sharyn helms Belson Design and the International Design Tours. Her design career spans more than 20 years, working with iconic Australian fashion designers, but made the move to interior design several years ago, officially launching Belson Design in 2016. She attributes international travel for her sophisticated, luxurious and timeless style, which is reflected in the interior design projects she undertakes for clients all over Australia.
Tours start from $6200 (land only).
